In Ahmedabad, hotel charges for the India-Pakistan match might reach Rs 1 lakh.

Hotel room costs in Ahmedabad have virtually doubled since the India-Pakistan cricket match was scheduled for October 15 there.

From the India Today News Desk: On October 15 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat, there will be a crucial ODI World Cup encounter between India and Pakistan. Hotel room costs in the city have virtually doubled since the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed the match.

According to prices on several hotel booking services, there may have been an unusually high demand for rooms on October 15, when the archrivals would play at the Narendra Modi stadium, which may have caused a dramatic increase in accommodation rates.

In the city, some opulent hotels charge anywhere from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh for a night. To put this into perspective, the average daily room rate at five-star hotels is between Rs 5,000 and Rs 8,000.

Up to five World Cup games, including the championship game, will be held in Ahmedabad. This will be the first time the city hosts many major cricket matches quickly.

There are around 10,000 hotel accommodations available, but 40,000 spectators are anticipated to travel to the city to see the India-Pakistan game at the 100,000-seat Narendra Modi stadium. Several of the city's upscale hotels do not have rooms available on October 15 due to the record demand.

The rate increases are exclusively applied to luxury hotels, according to Narendra Somani, President of the Gujarat Hotel and Restaurant Association, because they have set aside a specific number of rooms for the important event.
